About the project
Anonymous heroes is a project from the artist Joan Aguiló and the actress and playwright Catalina Inès Florit. Usual coworkers, base the participative project on the research of  local identity and the importance of the individuals within a society, taking a concrete final form as Street Art. The objective of Anonymous heroes is to catch the essence of a place, discovering that through the characteristics of their residents. It wants, specially, to give visibility to the anonymous persons that create a non material richness for the place where they are living, and to contribute by developing a feeling of proudness to that place. As observed results, new links between the resident and the environment are created, spaces in bad conditions are rehabited and the local culture is supported.

Joan Aguiló
(Palma de Mallorca, 1983) I studied illustration in the Design High School of the Balearic Islands, and Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. And I completed my education with two years in Mexico D.F at the National School of Plastic Arts. After that, I moved to Berlin, where I became interested in Urban Art. Since then I'm using public spaces and developing my works on the walls of Spain, United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Lebanon or India. My work is based on local identity. So, If I have the option, I travel with time to meet a few people from the community and talk about their daily life and how they grow up, to finally find an image that could be special for them in their context
